War on Error: Pinoy Version

War on Terror: Pinoy version
(I wrote this 3 days ago but I lost the fr***ing signal again with my Broadband... So here goes. Better late than never)

Reactions:

1. This is not religion we're fighting about here, is it? Because if it is, then, Marx was right. Religion is the opium of the people. Instead of uniting peoples, it divides them more.

2. We were having peace-talks with these people, right? If the raids in Lanao were the replies from their side, why talk peace with them? Let us show them the force of law. If not, we will look like a pie of dung. According to some accounts, some of them were laughing while firing. Madness.

3. This is a declaration of war. If we won't respond with force, our people will all the more realize the cowardice and inefficiency of the government, who said in its constitution that the welfare of the people is its prime objective. Crush them! Crush the rebellion now! Agression must be met firmly.

4. We have been talking peace with these people for a hundred years. I say we seek the statement of the Organization of Islamic Conference. Certainly these murderers will not get their support. Let them condemn these atrocities not only against Christians but also against Muslims, and on Muslim soil.

5. If MILF could not monitor its own ranks, why the fucking hell should we talk to them? This is an insult to the government of the Philippines and the peace process.

6. Sometimes, there is no peace without war. My mother used to tell me this. After watching Apocalypto last night, I realized that indeed, men have always fought with one another since the start of time. There is no peace without the readiness to go to war. We must try to avoid war because of the cost it brings us, but a prolonged situation of not-being-in-war but being-almost-in-war is worse than war itself. I say, we declare war on these bastards for the sake of peace and security, especially for the people in Mindanao.

7. As Woodrow Wilson said, asking for the declaration of war, "The world must be safe for democracy. Its peace must be planted upon trusted foundations of political liberty." What happened in Mindanao is definitely not a convincing argument on our trusted foundations of political liberty. This is the time to reprove it. Let it be through a massive show of force. Else, we become the laughing stock of our enemies.
