MANILA, Philippines -- Some doctors and hospitals have defrauded the government’s Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) by P4 billion in unnecessary or overpriced medical procedures since 1995, an official has disclosed to the Senate.
***It's a pity for such a good agency. In all my years of dealing with the government, I was pleased for the first time when I went to Philhealth in Taft. There were a lot of people, but my transaction was over in less than thirty minutes. And it did not cost me anything. Well, of course, there is still the problem of unsmiling staff but you can't win 'em all.
