More than 2,000 firearms siezed during campaign

2,176 loose firearms seized during campaign period--police

MANILA, Philippines -- The campaign against loose firearms in the 2007 elections has so far resulted in the recovery of 2,176 firearms, 195 explosives, and 303 bladed weapons, police records showed. The campaign has also led to the arrest of 2,301 suspects, according to the same records.
