Why? Politics

April 30 a working day, May 1 a holiday -- Palace

MANILA, Philippines -- Monday, April 30, will be a regular working day while Labor Day, May 1, will be a non-working holiday, the Office of the Executive Secretary said Tuesday.

***They want the announcement of benefits for laborers be heard on the day of labor, for poetry's sake.  And that will stall the rallies if ever.
